Windows on the World Series
This series speaks to my love of color, texture and design. Using fluid acrylics on 300 lb Arches, I start painting freely with brushes, scraping through layers and spattering paint without a plan or design in mind. Once I've had a chance to study the underpainting, I then use more opaque paints, tape and sponges to create some order out of the chaos, using various framing devices. What I love about these paintings is the juxtaposition of order and chaos, translucent and opague passages, some resembling stained glass.
